HOW AND WHY TO CLAIM YOUR BLOG ON BLOGLOVIN! ---> Click through to the blog to get to the step-by-step guide and find out, why Bloglovin is the shiz and why you need to get on board ASAP!

If you haven’t claimed your blog on Bloglovin, you’re missing out on a great marketing tool and lots of potential readers. 25 MILLION people use Bloglovin every month! By claiming your blog and allowing readers to follow you through Bloglovin, you’re opening up your blog to a massive audience – and we all know that blogging is a lot more fun when people are actually following along and reading the posts you’ve spent hours and hours writing. Before I show you how to claim your blog on Bloglovin, let’s take a look at why Bloglovin is the way to go!

Bloglovin makes it easy to follow your blog

What Bloglovin does it that it allows readers to follow your blog and be updated every time you publish a new post to your blog. Blogloving lets your readers (and you, for that matter) follow any blog on any platform. Unlike for example Facebook, Bloglovin doesn’t sort your posts by popularity or employ any other weird algorithms no one really understands.

When people choose to follow your blog, they get notified in their feed EVERY time you publish a post. It’s very similar to your Instagram feed where you can scroll through your feed from the most recent posts and back in time. If your readers see your post but haven’t got time to read it, they have the option of saving it for later.

Bloglovin shows you which posts are the most popular

Because your readers have the possibility of saving your posts, you can see which posts do best. Some posts get saved hundreds of times while others don’t do nearly as well. The save feature is particularly beneficial to food bloggers because readers tend to save recipes more than anything else, but generally, I find that the more value I put into a post the more people will save it.

Bloglovin helps new readers find your blog

Bloglovin users can search blogs by category or find similar blogs to the ones they like. This allows new readers to find and follow your blog – it’s free marketing. Because yes, Bloglovin is completely free to use.

Readers also have the opportunity to explore new blogs. If one of your blog posts gets saved a lot, it will turn up either on the front page – the one collecting data from all blogs – or on the subpage belonging to your category – fashion, lifestyle, wedding, food etc.

This is yet another way to attract new readers on Bloglovin, and let me tell you: It feels good to see your post among the popular posts. You can also search by country and see what is popular in the rest of the world. It’s really a great tool.

But enough of the Why, let’s get on with the How!

How to claim your blog on Bloglovin

STEP 1: First you must sign up for Bloglovin. Without a user, you can’t claim your blog so you need to register for an account.

You can either create a new account or log in via Facebook. When you create your account, you will have to follow a couple of blogs. I suggest you start by following this blog right here 🙂

STEP 6: When Bloglovin finds your blog, click on it to claim it.

STEP 7: Now you get a piece of code you have to insert on your blog to prove that you are the owner of your blog. Copy the code and paste it into a new blog post. If you don’t want anything to show up on your blog, delete the text “Follow my blog with Bloglovin”.
It doesn’t really matter – you can delete the post in a minute.
Publish your post and head back to the Bloglovin tab. Click the blue button “Claim your blog”.

STEP 8: Delete the post you just published. You don’t need it anymore.

Thanks! This is a very easy to follow how-to, much appreciated. I’ve had my blog claimed for some time now but without a ton of success. I’m wondering if you have any advice on how best to choose a category? My blog covers great marketing, branding, design and product trends.

Thank you for your comment, Nikola!

I’m actually struggling with that myself right now – I’ll let you know if I find an answer.

But one thing you can do (and I higly recommend this one!) is placing a Bloglovin widget on your blog! This way your can subscribe to your blog if they like your content. I couldn’t find a Bloglovin button on your blog so maybe that could be your next step 🙂 Best of luck to you, Nikola!
